UAE-based Allegion’s brand Schlage has reportedly collaborated with Amazon for integrated smart home solutions. Under the alleged partnership, the companies will work together towards the development of the solutions. Allegion is the manufacturer of innovation and unique door hardware and smart locks. Schlage in a separate news announced a brand new smart lock dubbed Schlage Connect™ Smart Deadbolt. The smart lock is certified by Zigbee and is compatible with Amazon Key. The company has made the lock available as a portfolio under the Amazon Key Smart Lock Kit.
Lee Odess, Allegion vice president of solution providers business said that the company has been in operation for more than 95 years delivering smart home hardware as it aims to provide the utmost security to its customers. Commenting on the partnership with Amazon Lee said that the collaboration will provide its customers a convenience of managing smart security hardware such as a smart lock.
Schlage has followed the guidelines of Zigbee in developing its Schlage Connect™ Smart Deadbolt. Under the Zigbee guidelines, the users of Smart Deadbolt will be able to remotely to lock their doors even when they are far away from their home by using Amazon Key app together with Amazon Cloud Cam. The smart lock will enable the customers to control optional home-in delivery and guest access. Besides, they will also be notified on their smart devices about the security of their house or property. The users will also get live streaming as well as recorded clips. In short, the users will be able to control who access their home when they are not there. The Zigbee citified lock can be synched to Amazon Echo Plus or Echo Show and controlled through Amazon Alexa app.

Amazon’s collaboration with Schlage is in line with the company’s endeavor to serve the customers in the best possible way, added Shrivastava. The collaboration will enable Amazon Key customers to enjoy enhanced home security with keyless entry to their house and the ability to remotely monitor the entrance of the house in the real-time.
Amazon Key provides its users the ability to manage the access remotely. All one needs to do is create a guest profile on the Amazon key app to schedule the access as always, temporary or recurring for people the users believe in or trust. According to the setting, the guests of the users will be able to have access to the door without having you there for them to open the door. The user also gets to know who enters the door by using Amazon Cloud Cam.
Working together, Amazon and Schlage are helping customers understand the benefits of smart locks as well as smart homes. In a separate story, Schlage has reportedly joined an initiative called the Amazon Smart Life Roadshow, which is designed to bring the experience of connected home devices to life.
